History of Canton Elevator, Inc.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce Canton Elevator to your organization.

Canton Elevator, Inc. was founded in 1946 and for 38 years operated as a full service organization providing total capability for new installation, modernization projects, and contractual service, maintaining over 1000 units in four states. In addition, Canton Elevator, Inc. manufactured a full line of hydraulic elevator equipment for use in our own installation projects, and for resale to other elevator contractors throughout the United States and Canada. Our extensive experience in installation and modernization of all types of elevator equipment is a major asset to our present operation.

In January of 1985, Canton Elevator, Inc. discontinued field operations to devote all of our efforts exclusively to the manufacture of quality hydraulic elevator equipment. Operating out of our 25,000-sq. ft. facility in Massillon, Ohio, we supply a full line of standard and custom passenger and freight elevators, including holeless hydraulic elevator equipment using both single stage and telescopic jack units. Our engineering staff has the ability to design and deliver passenger and freight elevators to meet any specifications or requirements.

Canton Elevator, Inc. is recognized by many leading architects and major elevator contractors as a dependable supplier of quality equipment. We have worked with and supplied equipment in projects designed by such well-known firms as Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, C.F. Murphy Associates, Lerch Bates and Associates, and many U-S- Government agencies. Canton Elevator, Inc. is also a prime supplier of hydraulic elevator equipment to one of the largest world known elevator companies. We have furnished elevator equipment for all of the major elevator companies, including Otis, Westinghouse, Schindler, Montgomery and Dover -- also complete installations for shipboard use.

The philosophy of Canton Elevator, Inc. is to provide our representative, the elevator contractor, with all of the engineering and management services necessary to intelligently communicate with their customer to supply quality hydraulic elevator equipment, designed for ease of installation and dependable operation. To this end we maintain an ongoing research and development program to assure that we continue to provide the best hydraulic elevator equipment available.
